Markets are rarely explained by a single number or indicator. Positioning, futures curves, seasonality, volatility and related markets can all add a different piece to the picture.
The Market Clues Handbook brings those pieces together. It explains the data we use, how key measures are calculated, what they can tell us, and where their limitations begin.
It is also where we document the research methods behind Market Clues, so readers can understand not only what we are looking at, but how we arrive at our conclusions.

Some market terms look straightforward at first, but the details often matter.
The Market Research Glossary explains the language used throughout Market Clues, from COT positioning and futures markets to spreads, seasonality, volatility and correlations.
The aim is not just to define each term, but to show how it is actually used, what it can tell you, and where it can easily be misunderstood.

The COT report can look pretty dry at first. A few categories, some long and short positions, and a new set of numbers every week.
What makes it interesting is the change behind those numbers.
In this forum, we follow positioning across Gold and other futures markets and look at what actually moved from one report to the next. Did funds add new longs? Were shorts covered? Did open interest expand or contract? Is the current position unusual compared with recent history?
Each report gets its own discussion, so the research is easy to follow over time and there is room to question the data, compare interpretations or point out something that deserves a closer look.
The aim is simple: understand what is changing beneath the headline position, without turning every COT update into a buy or sell call.

Not every market question needs its own category.
General Discussion is a place to share observations, ask questions, compare views and talk about things you have noticed in the markets. Charts, data, unusual moves or simple questions are all welcome.
The focus is on useful discussion, different perspectives and learning from each other.
